A group of approximately 10 individuals are running on a dirt road at what appears to be a military installation or base. The lead runner is wearing a black U.S. Army physical training shirt and shorts, suggesting this is a military physical fitness exercise. The setting includes fenced perimeter infrastructure, large warehouse-style buildings, and open grassy areas consistent with a military compound.

1st Lt. James Pyle, a platoon leader assigned to Echo Troop, 6th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, starts the dirt path portion of the 4x4x48 charity event at Tapa Army Base, Estonia, June 24-26, 2026. The 4x4x48 event, hosted by the British Army’s Royal Welsh, challenged participants to run four miles every four hours over a 48-hour period. The 4x4x48 challenge emphasized that just as endurance is built through perseverance and teamwork, supporting mental health requires continued commitment, connection and care across the military community. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies. V Corps is operationalizing and expanding the Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative with Allies, rapidly integrating emerging technologies into training and tactical plans. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
