Green Berets assigned to the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), ride in a CH-47 Chinook helicopter at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, June 18, 2026. During 1st SFG(A) 'Organizational Day' Green Berets conducted a helocast, a maritime operation involving jumping from a helicopter into a body of water, to show families and support troops an aspect of the unconventional warfare capabilities of 1st SFG(A).
1st SFG(A) conducts special operations throughout the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command areas of responsibility, in order to support command objectives and U.S. national interests. The group maintains and employs units of action to execute the full spectrum of special operations at a moment's notice with allies, partners, and the joint force.
