FORT SMITH, Ark. — National Aeronautics and Space Administration Administrator Jared Isaacman visited Ebbing Air National Guard Base today for a tour and to attend the 57th Fighter Squadron change of command ceremony.
Upon arrival, Isaacman was greeted by a delegation of base leadership, including Col. Jonathan Esparza, 188th Wing commander; Col. Dave Skalicky, 33rd Fighter Wing commander; and Col. Nicholas Ihde, 85th Fighter Group commander.
During the visit, Isaacman, an experienced pilot with more than 8,000 flight hours and certifications in multiple military aircraft—including the MiG-29 and T-38 Talon—was briefed by the 188th Wing and 33rd Fighter Wing leadership on Ebbing’s MQ-9 Reaper and F-35 Lightning II missions before touring the F-35 program's facilities.
Isaacman concluded his visit by attending the ceremony where his friend, Maj. David Fishel, assumed command of the 57th Fighter Squadron.
