Air Force Gen. Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, administers the oath of enlistment to U.S. military recruits at the New York City Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) at Fort Hamilton, N.Y., June 16, 2026.
Caine, accompanied by David L. Isom, Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman (SEAC), was welcomed to the installation by U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hamilton Commander Col. Misty Cantwell and Command Sgt. Maj. Eric Riding, and received a facility tour hosted by NYC MEPS Commander Army Lt. Col. Matthew M. Barack and First Sgt. Allison Edouard.
The New York City MEPS, located on Fort Hamilton—the only active-duty military installation in New York City—is a critical accession gateway that processes thousands of applicants from the tri-state metropolitan area into all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces each year.
