Rct. William Dudeck, 21, Physical Conditioning Platoon, Special Training Company, Support Battalion, does back extensions during a physical training session July 10, 2013, on Parris Island, S.C. The platoon is comprised of recruits who failed the initial strength test, physical fitness test or have fallen out of height and weight standards. The platoon trains recruits to become stronger before returning them to recruit training. Approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training. Parris Island is home to entry-level enlisted training for 50 percent of males and 100 percent of for females in the Marine Corps. Dudeck is from Dade City, Fla. (Photo by Lance Cpl. David Bessey)
