Diane Whetsel plays with a parrot she and members of the 'Texas Equusearch, Search and Recovery' along with Soldiers of the 1st of the 148th Infantry Regiment, Ohio Army National Guard recently rescued from one of the many flooded out houses in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans. In addition to the human suffering that is apart of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, many dogs, cats and birds have found themselves with no home and no owner to take care of them.
