On June 9, 2026, the Fort Belvoir Operations team delivered in-person Lifesaving Skills training. The training covered the importance of knowing first aid techniques, using automatic defibrillators and conducting cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It also featured a demonstration on how to tie a tourniquet properly. Participants learned that when possible and safe, documenting events during a medical emergency can provide essential information to medical responders. A video, for example, includes timestamps of what transpires, such as when a tourniquet is applied. Handwritten notes also work well for documentation. Digital or handwritten documentation helps emergency professionals know when events happened and the next step in the emergency response.
