U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman First Class Kristen Gordon, assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Annapolis operates a heat specialized sealer after the spray-dried plasma is produced. Gordon is the first Sailor to be trained and certified on this new system, which is part of a congressionally mandated program to create life-saving blood products for use in austere combat environments.
