A change of command ceremony for 19th Engineer Battalion takes place at Fort Knox, Kentucky on June 5, 2026. During the ceremony, Lt. Col. Derek Benz relinquished command to Maj. Beth Likins-Smith, previously the executive officer. The battalion will case its colors for the final time Oct. 15 as the battalion headquarters ends and the line companies restation at Fort Polk, Louisianna.
