French representatives place wreaths at the memorial during the Airborne Troops and Crew Memorial ceremony at the Picauville, France on June 02, 2026. The ceremony recognizes the Airborne troops and the aircrew of the five C-47s from the 9th Air Force that crashed in the town of Picauville. Eighty-two years after the Paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division jumped into Normandy on D-Day, their legacy keeps living on through every All-American who proudly wears the AA Patch and carries forward the same spirit of courage, sacrifice, commitment.
