U.S. Marines and Sailors with 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), participate in a hands-on training exercise during an aeromedical evacuation training led by LifeNet Air Ambulance personnel in Douglas, Ariz., June 2, 2026. The training familiarized JTF-SB service members with aeromedical evacuation protocols, focusing on the treatment and safe transfer of injured personnel to helicopter transport. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
