Medina and Hug were among the service members aboard a UH-1Y Venom helicopter with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469 (HMLA-469) that crashed during a humanitarian relief mission following the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal in 2015.
