Gen. Chris Donahue, commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa and NATO Allied Land Command, left, Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher L. Mullinax, command sergeant major of U.S. Army Europe and Africa, center, and Lt. Gen. William D. Taylor, U.S. military representative to the NATO Military Committee, right, march in a parade to the Signal Monument ceremony in Sainte-Mère-Église, France, June 3, 2026. The event commemorates World War II paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division who jumped into Sainte-Mère-Église and Soldiers of the 2nd Armored Division who liberated Carentan from Nazi forces on June 12, 1944. The 82nd anniversary of D-Day reminds us of the courage, sacrifice, and unity of U.S. and Allied forces who fought to liberate the world from tyranny. We honor the sacrifice of those who stormed the beaches of Normandy and parachuted behind enemy lines, ensuring their legacy endures for future generations. (U.S. Army photo by Maj. Brian Andries)
