Palm Desert Charter Middle School cadets are shown night vision gear from U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Shiyang Ni, a flight equipment mechanic with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 165, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, as part of a base tour on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, May 26, 2026. The visit allowed the cadets to gain a better understanding of the wing's roles and capabilities. PDCMS cadets participate in specialized leadership, community, and military focused youth programs, such as those associated with the California Cadet Corps or similar local scouting and JROTC feeder initiatives.
