U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Carlos A. Ruiz, the 20th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, visits Arizona State University (ASU), Phoenix, Arizona, May 26, 2026. During his visit, Ruiz spoke with Navy Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) midshipmen, Marine Junior ROTC students, staff of ASU’s Pat Tillman Veterans Center, and held a virtual office call with Dr. Chris Howard, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ASU. The visit was conducted in order to better assist Marines as they transition out of the Marine Corps, while providing insight to those currently planning to join the Navy and Marine Corps.
