Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Ken Wilsbach (left) presents a coin to Senior Airman Karly Dinkins (right), Special Warfare Training Support Squadron, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, April 22, 2026. Dinkins was recognized for exceptional leadership and performance as a student actions technician with the SWTSS. She stepped up to fill a critical noncommissioned officer billet during leadership transitions and the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. During this time, Dinkins led her team to streamline Basic Military Training in-processing and revamped temporary duty (TDY) travel processing, implementing three key changes that improved voucher completion across six squadrons. Furthermore, she spearheaded a school drive in partnership with Operation Homefront, securing $40,000 in educational equipment to support 200 families and 400 local children. Dinkins represents the Special Warfare Training Wing, which selects and trains USAF special operations ground combat forces, including pararescuemen, combat controllers, special reconnaissance and tactical air control party.
