The new Commanding Officer Brenden Kelley stands with the Vice Commadant Allan and Reserve Force Master Chief Adams awaiting the cutter’s commissioning ceremony in New York at the Intrepid, May 22, 2026. The Fast Response Cutter was named in honor of Vincent Danz, a Coast Guard petty officer who was killed during the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and the cutter will support the Coast Guard’s missions of maritime safety, security and national defense.
