MEDITERRANEAN SEA — (May 17, 2026) A Mark 38 25mm machine gun is remotely fired during live-fire exercises aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Gonzalez (DDG 66), May 17, 2026. Gonzalez is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations to support the war fighting effectiveness, lethality and readiness of U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, and defend U.S., Allied and partner interests in the region.
