GULFPORT, Mississippi (May 13, 2026) Builder 3rd Class Mike Racine, assigned to Naval Construction Battalion 14, cuts lumber with a circular saw during a roofing fundamentals course at Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport, during annual training (AT-3) for fiscal year 2026, quarter 3. The training focused on the Department of Defense Innovative Readiness Training program and provided construction support to the local community while sharpening expeditionary skills required for global mission readiness. It also included training in welding, advanced wiring, heavy timber bunker construction, water treatment, vehicle licensing, masonry, roofing, and weapons. Naval Construction Battalion 14 provided advanced-base construction, battle-damage repair, contingency engineering, humanitarian assistance, and disaster recovery support to the fleet and unified commanders.
