U.S. Army Command Sgt. Major Kevin P. Kirkpatrick , 44th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, New Jersey Army National Guard changes command responsibility over to Command Sgt. Major Paul J. Greenberg, Lawrenceville, New Jersey, May 17, 2026.
Command Sgt. Major Kirkpatrick enlisted in the U.S Army in 1994 as a power generation equipment repairer, serving with the 307th Engineer Battalion and 618 Engineer Company out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He later transitioned to the New Jersey National Guard and served in Bravo Company, 1-114th Infantry Battalion. Kirkpatrick has spent the last 30 years serving in the NJNG 44th IBCT with 4 deployments to the Middle East and served in various leadership positions.
Command Sgt. Major Greenberg began his military career as an 11B Infantryman on Active Duty in 2002 serving with Charlie Company, 1-21 Infantry Regiment 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. He later transitioned to the NJNG in 2005 serving with Charlie Troop out of Hackettstown, NJ. Greenberg has deployed 4 times to the Middle East holding various leadership positions and now steps into the role of Command Sergeant Major for the 44th IBCT, joining Colonel Omar T. Minot as part of the command team.
