Soldiers from the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, gathered May 15, 2026, on Bulldog Field in front of the brigade headquarters as Brigade Commander Col. Latham and Command Sgt. Maj. Pyle joined them in wishing Staff Sgt. Duke Chester XI a happy retirement. Chester served as the 3rd ABCT mascot from March 25, 2021, to May 15, 2026, bringing five years of spirit and tradition to the brigade and its battalions.
The 3rd ABCT continues a mascot legacy dating back to World War II. While Chester will be missed, his time with the brigade remains a cherished part of its history. The Soldiers of the 3rd ABCT wish Chester a happy retirement. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Colby Turvin)
