NASA Astronaut Kevin A. Ford points to a patch on the costume Jackson Westervelt during a visit here July 10. Ford visited the Defense Department's George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies for an orientation following 145 days aboard the International Space Station. Ford, a Russian-speaker, launched on Oct. 23, 2012, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, alongside Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitskiy and Evgeny Tarelkin, and later landed in Kazakhstan March 13. The retired Air Force colonel and Indiana native also took time to sign about 150 autographs for children and adults at the Armed Forces Recreation Center Edelweiss Lodge and Resort. Jackson is the son of Deacon and Kristi Westervelt, employees of the Marshall Center. (DOD Photo by Karlheinz Wedhorn/RELEASED)
