Dr. Alexander Miller, senior advisor for science and technology and the Chief Technology Officer to the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, gives closing remarks during Project Flytrap at PabradÄ— Training Area, Lithuania, May 15, 2026. Miller made note to the senior Army leaders in the room that the Soldiers who participated in Flytrap are now the leading experts on the technology tested in the exercise, encouraging the leaders to lean on the Soldiers and take their feedback into account when fielding new systems for the modern battlefield. From April 27 to May 31, 2026, U.S. and Allied forces will conduct Project Flytrap as part of a series of linked exercises, including Sword 26, Saber Strike, Immediate Response, and Swift Response, which transform experimentation into capability. During Project Flytrap, Soldiers integrate counter-unmanned systems, AI-enabled command and control, and live data networks to move faster, decide faster, and fight more effectively across all domains.
