More than 100 U.S. and Italian service members participated in the 30-kilometer Norwegian Foot March at Leghorn Army Depot, Camp Darby, Italy, May 15, 2026. Units included Naples 6th Fleet, 529th Military Police Company, USAG-Italy HHC, USAHC-V Italy, USAF 731 MUNS, USSF 163 EWCD, USAF 52 CES, USAF 606 ACS, Italian Base Command, 187th Parachute Regiment “Folgore,” Savoia Cavalleria (3rd), 9th Assault Parachute Regiment “Col Moschin,” RESOS, 207th MI Brigade, 7th Mission Support Command, 839th Transportation Battalion, and Army Field Support Battalion-Africa. Participants completed three 10-kilometer loops carrying a 25-pound rucksack, strengthening U.S.-Italian military partnership and camaraderie. The Norwegian Foot March, established in 1915 to test the endurance of Norwegian infantry, is now recognized as an important international benchmark for military physical fitness.
