U.S. service members assigned to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, load sandbags onto a vehicle, April 26, 2026. The Friends of Africa Volunteers filled and emplaced sandbags at Caritas Orphanage to mitigate flooding of their facilities. In late December and early January, the orphanage experienced severe monsoon flooding, which resulted in the loss of critical medical supplies and temporary displacement for residents.
