Cherry Point service members prepare an F-35B Lightning II for transportation to Fleet Readiness Center East for scheduled maintenance July 9. This is the first F-35B to arrive at FRCE for maintenance. The joint strike fighter is designed for air-to-air and air-to-ground combat, surveillance and reconnaissance gathering, electronic warfare and command and control roles.
