U.S. Army Soldiers with Charlie Company, 3rd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), land a CH-47 Chinook during the delivery of a Performance Drone Works C-100 unmanned aircraft system (UAS) to the 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade in San Antonio, Texas, May 8, 2026. Soldiers assigned to JTF-SB use the UAS to detect suspected illegal aliens attempting to cross the U.S Southern Border. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
