The Peruvian Army 5th Amazon Jungle Protection Brigade Commanding General Brig. Gen. Jose Chuquillanqui Narvarte speaks on the importance of interoperability, shared readiness, and mutual trust while welcoming attendees of the Exercise Southern Vanguard 2026 Mid-Planning Conference in Sauce, Peru, on May 4, 2026. The PERAR, in partnership with the U.S. Army Western Hemisphere Command, is hosting Argentinean and Chilean soldiers to train alongside Peruvian and American soldiers for this premiere exercise as proof of enduring commitment to regional partnership and to strengthen multi-component forces for complex operations in a jungle environment.
