    U.S Marine Corps Lt. Col. Benjamin, Vanwingerden, director of safety and standardization, Marine Fighter Training Squadron 401, Marine Aircraft Group 41, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, steps out of an F-5N+ aircraft after conducting an inaugural flight at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina, March 4, 2026. The aircraft conducted its inaugural flight on station as the first F-5N+ assigned to the installation, following a redesign of its internal navigation and flight control systems to modern standards.
