The United States Army Mountaineer Badge was established March 2025, photographed at the first pinning, in the U.S. Army Mountain Warfare School, Jericho, VT, Jan 27, 2026. Graduating Class 26-006 of the USAMWS were the first to be badged directly from the school with the authorized Army-wide device, recognizing proficiency in mountaineering. It replaces the previous Vermont National Guard specific Ram's Head Device, the new badge is awarded upon completion of the Army Mountain Warfare School (AMWS) and features a design incorporating a Ram's Head.
