Nursing Miles with Nursing Smiles…As part of Naval Hospital Bremerton’s National Nurse Week appreciation May 6-12, 2026, Health Promotion and Wellness in collaboration with the command Nurses Association held a Daisy Dash 5K, May 7, part of the weeklong schedule of events. The 3.1-mile run is named after the nurse’s recognition award given worldwide throughout healthcare facilities, including military treatment facilities, for those nurses ‘who display exceptional clinical skills and kindness.’ Nurses Week began May 6, with a traditional Healing Hands ceremony and continues with a confectionary Friday ice cream social, followed by Brunch and Banter on Monday, CREDO [Chaplain Religious Enrichment Development Operation] team building event on Tuesday, and a cake cutting ceremony, promotion for Lt. j.g. Emmanuel Aranda and Daisy Award presentation, May 13, the birthdate of the Navy Nurse Corps (Official Navy photo by Douglas H Stutz, NHB/NMRTC Bremerton public affairs officer).
