U.S Air Force Lt. Col. Michael Overstreet, 492nd Fighter Squadron pilot and Lt. Col. Tyler Stark, 494th Fighter Squadron pilot, prepare to fly the newly-painted F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft for the first time at RAF Lakenheath, England, May 7, 2026. Leading up to the event, 48th Equipment Maintenance Squadron Airmen worked 22 days, masking, sanding and priming before painting the aircraft. They painted it in the same camouflage paint scheme and markings as the Cold War-era F-111F Aardvark aircraft that flew from RAF Lakenheath in 1986.
