U.S. Navy Seabees and Marines conduct facility and capability assessments with the Côte d’Ivoire Navy and West Africa Regional Maritime Security Centre as part of exercise Obangame Express 2026. These combined assessments are the building blocks for future engagements, Mil-Mil cooperation, and small scale infrastructure enhancements that will further regional maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea region. Obangame Express is one of three regional maritime exercises led by U.S. Sixth Fleet as part of a comprehensive strategy to provide collaborative opportunities to African forces and international partners to address maritime security concerns.
