U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Bobby Gossett, a Squad Leader from 4th Battalion, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), takes part in an Expert Physical Fitness Assessment on Fort A.P. Hill, Va., May 5, 2026. The assessment was part of Day 1 of the 2026 Military District of Washington (MDW) Best Squad Competition, which involved three teams of five-person squads from the across MDW. The first day of the competition began with the Expert Physical Fitness Assessment and a timed 12-mile foot march.
