Representatives from each company with 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 7, serve food to the Marines and sailors of “America’s Battalion” at a battalion luncheon in the dining facility here, July 4, 2013. “Since I was a kid, my parents always made sure I knew why we celebrated on the Fourth of July," said Lance Cpl. Austin Fuller, a 20-year old native of Louisville, Ky., and a rifleman with 2nd Bn., 8th Marines. “They wanted to instill in me that it was more than just barbeques and fireworks.”
