The SGT Stouts, which belong to 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regt., 52d ADA Brigade, one has been outfitted with the Echo Shield radar to help detect Class 1 and Class 2 aircraft; the other has the RPS-42 Multi-mission Hemispheric Radar to detect Class 3 and Class 4 aircraft, near Baltadvaris, Lithuania, May 5, 2026. Class 1 and Class 2 aircraft are small drones much like what can be found at an electronics store, Class 3 and Class 4 aircraft are large aircraft like rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft. From April 27 to May 31, 2026, U.S. and Allied forces conducted Project Flytrap as part of a series of linked exercises, including Sword 26, Saber Strike, Immediate Response, and Swift Response, which transform experimentation into capability. During Project Flytrap, Soldiers integrate counter-unmanned systems, AI-enabled command and control, and live data networks to move faster, decide faster, and fight more effectively across all domains.
