Master Sgt. Doreen Fajota, the NCO in charge of the Evans Army Community Hospital Best Medic/Best Squad competitions, runs across the finish line with Cpl. Christopher Berard, a 68D Operating Room Specialist, during the 12-mile ruck march portion of the Best Squad Competition at Fort Carson, Colo. Berard was one of five EACH Soldiers competing in Medical Readiness Command, West’s Best Squad Competition April 20-23, 2026. For the first time ever, teams from every medical treatment facility in MRC, West are conducting their own competitions and will submit their scores to MRC, West for judging. MRC, West will select winners who will compete in the upcoming U.S. Army Best Squad Competition in July and the Army Medical Command’s CSM Jack L. Clark Best Medic Competition.
