U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border conduct a four-person litter carry to gain experience transporting personnel to the next level of care during Iron Medic training in Del Rio, Texas, April 28, 2026. The Soldiers trained for three days alongside the U.S. Border Patrol to enhance casualty evacuation procedures and medical interoperability. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
