U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Jesse Ragan, an electrical power production technician assigned to the 554th Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operations Repair Squadron Engineers, records data to ensure no major fluctuations in the generator that powers the Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (ROWPU) at Pao Pao Beach, Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), April 28, 2026. The ROWPU was established to provide usable potable water service for distribution in the aftermath of Typhoon Sinlaku. The Department of War plays a key role in disaster response, with all of its efforts in close coordination with and in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency working with Guam and CNMI civil and local officials.
