Marines conduct machine gun familiarization in Sweden

U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Andre Palmer, left, a motor vehicle operator, and and Pfc. Drew Essex, a transmissions systems operator, both with Combat Logistics Battalion 24, Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, practice machine gun drills during exercise Aurora 26 in Kvarn, Sweden, April 29, 2026. CLB-24 hosted the machine gun class to help Marines better their skillsets in crew-served weaponry systems. U.S. Marines and Sailors with 2nd MLG are participating in exercise Aurora as part of the larger U.S. Army-led Sword 26 series of linked multinational exercises, which directly supports NATO's Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative concept, validates defense plans, builds a unified lethal force, and strengthens deterrence. Palmer is a native of Tennessee. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Brady Hathaway)
