U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters assigned to Alpha Company, 1-171 General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB) and Charlie Company, 1-106 Assault Helicopter Battalion, and a CH-47 Chinook helicopter assigned to the Bravo Company, 1-169 GSAB, all with the Georgia National Guard, prepare and takeoff at Waycross-Ware County Airport, Georgia, Apr. 24, 2026. The Georgia National Guard has provided three CH-47 Chinook helicopters and five UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters in response to the wildfires that have been spreading in south Georgia.
