U.S. service members assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border perform flutter kicks to build core strength during Day 7 of Air Assault training at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., April 27, 2026. This physical training session, which also included a four-mile run, prepared the candidates, including U.S. Soldiers and Marines, for the rigorous tactical and physical demands of the remainder of the course. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
