JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM – James Neuman, historian for Commander, Navy Region Hawaii, is interviewed by a documentary video crew on Ford Island, April 27, 2026. Neuman is a subject matter expert on the Dec. 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor and the history of the USS Arizona Memorial. The crew is producing a two-hour documentary for PBS (U.S.) and National Geographic to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. Scheduled for release this fall, the documentary will reconstruct key events leading up to, during and after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
