U.S. Marine Corps 2nd Lt. Nicholas Kocaj, assigned to Marine Corps Recruiting Command, is sworn in by Lt. Col. Stacy Allen, a circuit military judge with the Northern Judicial Circuit, on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., April 28, 2026. Kocaj took the Attorney’s Oath for admission to the New Jersey State Bar, the final step in earning his license to practice law and serve as a military lawyer. Marine Judge Advocates can be licensed to practice law in any U.S. State, Territory or the District of Columbia and will practice in a variety of legal practice areas including criminal litigation, compliance, and international and national security law.
