Soldiers assigned to the 7th Infantry Division and the New Mexico National Guard honor the service of Sgt. Celestino Chavez Jr. in Gallup, Nm., Apr. 15, 2026. Sgt. Chavez was killed during the battle of Chosin reservoir during the Korean War. For his actions, he was awarded the Silver Star.
