This thermal image shows a Virginia National Guard Soldier at Ft. Pickett, Virginia, scanning the electromagnetic spectrum as his pack heats up from the active radios and antennas he’s carrying. ARL researchers are working to quantify and reduce this thermal signature by integrating advanced heat-dissipation technologies and next-generation batteries that enhance performance and reduce heat.
