The 403rd Wing's 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron and a team of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecasters visited Marathon, Florida; Roatan, Honduras; Belize City, Belize; and San Juan, Puerto Rico as part of the annual Caribbean Hurricane Awareness Tour, April 14-18, 2026. The CHAT provides a unique opportunity for NHC and meteorological services in the region to meet with and educate disaster preparedness agencies, media, and the public regarding the tropical cyclone forecasts, warning services, and preparedness.
