Eric Lain, Deputy Division Artillery Commander (DIVARTY), 25th Infantry Division, explains how the data extracted from the edge sensors is ingested into the fires direction software and displayed onto the DIVARTY main common operation picture during a Lightning Surge 2 demonstration on February 25, 2026, at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Data and AI enhancements, as part of the Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) prototypes, are sorting and extracting the data needed to aid the Fires Direction Officer’s targeting decision making process.
