U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Nelson Valdez III, a motor vehicle operator with 2nd Distribution Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, ground guides a medium tactical vehicle replacement during exercise Aurora as part of Sword 26 in Fiborgatagnen, Norway, April 16, 2026. Ground and logistical equipment assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 24 was offloaded and transported in preparation for the exercise. U.S. Marines and Sailors with 2nd Marine Logistics Group are participating in Aurora as part of the larger Sword 26 series of linked multinational exercises. This participation directly supports NATO's Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative concept, validates defense plans, builds a unified lethal force, and strengthens deterrence.
