    III Marine Expeditionary Force   

    Sgt. Maj. Patrick L. Kimble, right, and Maj. Gen. Charles L. Hudson salute the names of more than 12,000 American service members June 23 at the Cornerstone of Peace in Itoman prior to the 2013 Okinawa Memorial Service for All War Dead. The Cornerstone of Peace contains 241,227 names of those who perished during the brutal fighting. Kimble is the sergeant major of Marine Corps Installations Pacific and Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D. Butler, and Hudson is the commanding general of MCIPAC, MCB Camp Butler.
